Preparing your skin for Autumn

The very mention of Autumn conjures cosy thoughts of evenings by the fire, an extra layer or two of clothing & hot beverages. However, to me as us as Skin Therapists it is a time to reevaluate where we are with our skin. It is a time of transition, autumn is a great time to rejuvenate the skin from any summer damage & prepare it for the winter. Warmer climes have meant maybe using lighter creams & moisturisers, reduced exfoliation & less treatments were enough to suffice the needs of our skin. Autumnal climate change brings dehydration, it is time to give the skin some much needed TLC. Exciting innovations by the professional skincare treatments & products, with ingredients like vitamin A, C & E, peptides & hylauronic acid, we can now make the skin more resilient to change.

Cleanse

It is time to look at your cleansing regime, Environ’s Low Foaming Facewash is great when you are on the go & best of all it is suited to all skin types. If your skin is persistently dehydrated then I couldn’t recommend enough Environ pre-cleanse oil which is also great for easy removal of makeup. I always recommend double cleansing the skin, you will reap the rewards!!!

Exfoliate

Autumn Winter is when I tend to recommend a deeper exfoliation through a course of salon treatments combined with a homecare plan. It is possible to treat deeper issues such as scarring, acne & pigmentation. Environ’s Focus care range consists of Revival Mask, with it’s triple acid exfoliation ticks all boxes & lives up to it’s ‘facelift’ in a jar claim. As we age our natural exfoliation becomes sluggish, this is also one of the factors to cause acne, so in these skin types we need to assist the process to reveal the naturally more healthier & hydrated skin beneath.

Serum

If you introduce one thing to your regime this autumn let it be Avance Serum by Environ, helps to firm, smooth and moisturise the appearance of your skin to keep it looking beautiful and youthful. It assists in protecting skin from losing its firm, smooth and plump appearance. Avance serum improves the skin’s overall tone, texture and appearance by helping to minimise the visible signs of aging.

Boost

Environ’s Hydrating Oil capsules will become your saviour when your skin is compromised by the elements, delivering a concentrated burst of vitamin enriched hydration for the skin. Containing a blend of Retinol and Antioxidants, they may help to protect the skin against the damaging effects of free radicals. They assist in enriching skin with natural surface oils, leaving it looking visibly refreshed and energised. These capsules assist in softening and moisturising skin, leaving it looking revitalised and radiant.

  • Contains antioxidants that are proven to combat the visible signs of ageing.

  • Leaves a luxurious, soft and silky after feel.

Moisturise

Enhance your existing moisturiser by adding Environ’s Super Moisturiser, it’s ingredients leave the skin feeling soft & smooth by restoring the skin’s natural moisture balance. It can be layered over your existing moisturiser, increasing it’s moisturising factor.

Protect

It is important to remember that even though we are lacking in sunshine at the moment, we should not forget to apply a good SPF!!!

Nourish

From the inside out is our ethos at The Beauty Rooms, so we encourage our clients to supplement with vitamin A as they begin to visibly see the benefits of using it topically, Skin Omegas+ by Advanced Nutrition Programme is the perfect companion to your skincare regime, not only at this time of year but all it keeps the skin hydrated & plump. It contains optimum levels of EPA (an important omega 3) along with GLA (an important omega 6) made from Evening Primrose Oil. Vitamin A is a key ingredient needed for skin health.
